King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center | CannonDesign

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center

To advance King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center’s presence in cancer treatment and research, this strategic expansion of their flagship campus features four landmark buildings that integrate the latest in design, medical equipment, and healthcare system technologies to accommodate future paradigms.

The project includes four signature buildings: The 360-bed King Abdullah Center for Cancer and Liver Disease, the National Biotechnology Center, a Royal Wing, and the EMS Polyclinic Building.

In order to incorporate these new structures into an already dense campus, CannonDesign devised an extensive tunnel network that not only supplies utilities but also pushes vehicular traffic underground to allow for more of the grounds of the facility to be landscaped – enhancing access, connectivity, and identity. The unified campus now has the infrastructure in place to provide the flexibility to meet future growth needs.
