These two towers, named the XI or the Eleventh Construction, are located in Chelsea between the High Line and the Hudson River, New York City. The taller tower rises, with 34 floors, to a height of 402 ft. The shorter of the pair will have 25 floors and reach 302 ft.
Placed atop a podium-like structure, these two twisting bronze and travertine towers will be linked by a sky bridge.
The two asymmetrical towers include luxury residences, art space, restaurants, and retail outlets. They will also feature the first urban concept created by the hotel operator Six Senses.
The east tower, known as No. X, will be home to the hotel and 87 residences. The interiors of the condominium residences in this tower are designed by the Paris-based Gilles & Boissier.
‘The two towers transform and adapt to their surroundings and each other as they rise from the ground, reorienting themselves to respond to the high line, the Hudson River and the surrounding arts district,’ explains Bjarke Ingels.
The west tower, also known as No. I, will have an additional 149 residences designed by Gabellini Sheppard Associates. The fifth and sixth floors house simplexes and duplexes with magnificent views of the Hudson River, then the residence rise from the seventh floor, at a height of 70 feet. A private Porte cochère leads the visitors into a welcoming courtyard, designed by Enzo Enea.
A residents-only amenity experience, designed and curated by Gabellini Sheppard and Six Senses, will be shared by the owners of the apartments in XI. Overlooking the Hudson River, the leisure space and private wellness area include a fitness center as well as a glass-enclosed 75-foot swimming pool.
The New York City towers also have a bar, a library, a movie screen, and a private wine tasting room. The Wine tasting room has a dining area, wine lockers, and a catering kitchen. Then, there is a social lounge with a billiards table for creating a rich experience of entertainment and culinary experience. A dedicated teen room and children’s playroom are also present to cater to the needs of families with children.
