Just like Willy Wonka was offered to spend the day at the chocolate factory, one fortunate family is going to have the chance to spend the night at the LEGO House in Billund, Denmark. This offer was presented by Airbnb and LEGO to a family of four members. The families can enlist their names at the Airbnb listing and answer the following question: “If you had an unlimited supply of LEGO bricks, what would you build?”
The guests will be flown to spend the night of the 24th /25th of November at the 3-acre LEGO HQ. After the daily visitors of the house leave at night, the place will be at the family’s disposal.
Airbnb says that Jamie Brerard-chief builder- will be welcoming the family at the LEGO House and guiding them through the place. The family will be offered the chance to build their lunches from blocks and their creations would be transformed into real food.
LEGO owner Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen said, a long time ago, about the LEGO House experience, “The LEGO House will be a place where people can enjoy active fun but at the same time it will be an educational and inspirational experience – everything that LEGO play offers. The experience centre will give us the opportunity to show how children learn through LEGO play. We’ll be able to combine academic knowledge about the developmental aspects of play with the brick itself – enabling children and their parents to see and feel what LEGO play offers. And woven into the situation we’ll be able to relate the story of our company in a dedicated way, reflecting our values.”
25 million LEGO blocks were used to build the magnificent HQ that contains many facilities which are made of plastic. The LEGO House is expected to receive around 250,000 visitors every year. A section of the house will be open to the public, free of charge.
The charges will apply to other parts of the LEGO House, mainly at the places where people have fun educational experiences.
Although there are several other LEGO houses around the world, they are not that famous or cool.
