8 lawsuits were filed against Apple this week after it has been discovered that the hi-tech company, intentionally, decelerated the performance of older iPhones. The one-trillion-dollar-worth lawsuits were filed against Apple in America and overseas for concealing these intentions in addition to the company’s dishonesty with the consumers.
The cases were based on the company’s admission that it has been decelerating the performance of the old iPhones through an alteration in their software that has been made last year. This comes as a blow to the sales of the new versions of iPhone that were released last September.
Apple claimed that its actions aimed to prolong the battery life for iPhone 6S, iPhone 6, iPhone 7, and iPhone SE. This has forced many iPhone owners to buy newer models of the smartphone instead of just purchasing new batteries.
Violetta Mailyan has filed the most expensive lawsuit and has demanded a compensation of 999 billion dollars based on the Business and Professions Codes of California. Other legal actions were taken by Raisa Drantivy who demanded 100 million dollars.
In addition to Illinois and New York suits, there was one that was also filed in Israel. The one thing that the litigations have in common is that they represent the huge numbers of the smartphones’ owners.
In September 2017, Apple has released iPhone 8 and iPhone X to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the hit line of smartphones.
