Based in London, The Bartlett School of Architecture officially globally ranked as the second best place in the world to study architecture, according to QS world university rankings.
Located in Boston, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has beaten The Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL) making it’s way to the top of the ranking with a score of 96.5. The ranking list compiled by the higher education data specialists QS uses wide-scope criteria to produce the table. These criteria include not only academic reputation but also employer reputation and research impact.
Retaining its position since 2017, the Bartlett School has managed to stay in second place for two years in a row.
As for the third place, Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands comes in while the University of California Berkeley(UCB) occupies the 4th place and Harvard University is ranked the fifth.
Professor Alan Penn, Dean of The Bartlett, has stated, “This recognition of the research and teaching within the faculty is a testament to everyone’s hard work at The Bartlett and across UCL. We’re investing to further improve the student experience and with the opening of Here East later this year, The Bartlett continues to be a unique and truly world-leading faculty for built environment study”.
Collecting opinions from hundreds of academics, the QS World University Rankings analyze 28.5 million research papers and over 113 citation to try to get an accurate representation of the progress of academic institutions.
